The Global Iron and Steel Tracker (GIST) will replace the current Global Steel Plant Tracker and Global Blast Furnace Tracker starting in March 2025. GIST will provide plant and unit-level information on global crude iron and steel production plants, including operating plants with a capacity of five hundred thousand tonnes per year (ttpa) or more of crude iron or steel, as well as plants over this threshold that have been proposed or under construction since 2017 or retired or mothballed since 2020.
All subscribers to the Global Steel Plant Tracker and Global Blast Furnace Tracker will be automatically subscribed to GIST updates upon its launch.
