Global Energy Monitor

GEM’s Latin America Energy Portal offers a region-wide perspective on energy infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean, through interactive maps and thousands of wiki pages. The Portal synthesizes GEM’s research on nearly 15,000 projects throughout the region, including solar farms, wind farms, coal-, gas- and oil-fired power plants, hydroelectric, bioenergy, geothermal and nuclear plants, oil and gas pipelines, oil and gas extraction sites, LNG terminals and coal mines. Additional resources include free data downloads, country energy profiles, and links to government data and reports from organizations working towards a sustainable energy transition in the LAC region.

The most recent release of this data was in September 2025.
